Schneider Weisse at Braukunst Live! 2017

Between February 10th and 12th of February Germany’s grand fair for beer brewers and beer lovers took place at the museum of the Munich Traffic Company MVG. And this location simply seemed more than fit, as there is indeed a lot of movement in the world of beer these days. Naturally, Schneider Weisse once again contributed accordingly with a couple of progressive ideas – some of which however root deep in the tradition of the craft of brewing beer: For example, our chief sommelier Stephan Butz demonstrated impressively how in former times cold beer was heated using a smoldering wrought iron, in order to add smoke flavouring.

But also in theory the Schneider delegation proved competent tutors: With his lecture on "Waizenbier, Mathilde and NewYork – mutige Festbiere im Wandel der Zeit“ the head of the Schneider brewery Georg VI. Schneider held a witty laudation on festive beer specialities and the people who made or enjoyed them in the course of history. Our head of distribution Susanne Hecht inspired listeners with her culinary excursion about combining "Macarons" and wheat beer, while our master brewer Hans-Peter Drexler introduced visitors to the astonishing art of maturing avantgarde wheat beers using barrique barrels.

What else was there to see, hear and taste? Our little slide show might give you a pretty good idea ...
