In the end even the sun proved to be a true fan of the Munich Marathon - an contributed to it's reputation as a colourful, diverse and cheerful event. Aside from the classic marathon distance participants could once again register for the Half-Marathon, the 10km-Run and relay competitions. Traditionalists and non-conformists were also given their chance to compete - by joining the so called "Trachtenlauf" (garb race) a day before the big event. A new and highly successful addition in 2017 was the Inclusion Run for people with mental or physical disabilities.
